Ode to Autumn

I say Autumn instead of “fall”.
Fall – what a boring name for such a beautiful season
The leaves – orange, yellow, red – a beautiful warm sea
The air is crisp, the temperature cool
Cool enough you can wear a cute sweater without the unbearable heat
But not too cool that your nose turns blue
The drinks feel like a hug
I read, curled in a blanket, while leaves meander through the air.
The only bad thing about it is that strawberries are no longer in season.
But it’s replaced with Halloween (my favorite holiday)
Replaced with pumpkins and cute decorations and chocolate and candles that smell like those drinks that feel like hugs
And I always seem to fall in love in Autumn.
